Dubai Duty Free Gulf Gaelic Games, 22 Mars 2013

Dear All

On behalf of Dubai Celts GAA Club, I wish to extend an open invitation to the All GAA Clubs in Ireland and abroad to the 2013 Dubai Duty Free (DDF) Gulf Gaelic Games. This International Invitational Tournament will take place in the world class Emirates Sevens Complex in Dubai over the weekend of the 22nd of March. This gives clubs from all over the world an opportunity to compete in a unique setting.

In previous years we have had teams from all over the Middle East, Asia, Europe, South Africa, the UK and Ireland. We have also hosted the 2005 and 2006 Vodafone All Stars, the 2008 Ladies All Stars and latterly the Dublin Senior Football team in 2011.
This is an excellent weekend of sport and one of the largest GAA events to be staged anywhere outside of Ireland. Next year we plan on hosting an Irish Festival with the Gulf Gaelic Games as the highlight of the week, and it should not be missed.

In 2013 we are hoping to increase the number of sides competing in the DDF Gulf Gaelic Games. We will have competitions in Men’s Football and Hurling, Ladies Football and Camogie, Dubai Schools and Underage games. We would like to bring as many teams from diverse locations as possible, as this adds to the truly unique competition the GGG is.
The format is 9 a side played out on Rugby pitches and all standards of skill and fitness will be catered for. We have found that this format proves to be both competitive and enjoying throughout the different levels. We will host your club in the Emirates Sevens complex (www.thesevens.ae) which is a world class facility.

Dubai needs no introduction as a tourist destination, and is easily accessible from Ireland, Europe and Asia. Both of the National Carriers, Emirates and Etihad have direct flights to the UAE from all corners of the globe. Currently air fares are approx €450-€500. During the month of March, Dubai offers perfect weather conditions for those wishing to escape the usual Irish Spring weather. You will be promised temperatures of 20-25 degrees, clear skies and warm evenings. Highlights during a trip to Dubai include desert safaris, indoor skiing, world class golf, beautiful beaches and as much shopping as can be compiled into a week. In time, we shall send you a detailed itinerary for all visiting teams, and each travelling team will have a dedicated team liaison officer who will help you in any way possible with all social attractions that Dubai has to offer.

If your club are planning a tour or event for 2013, now is the time to get things started. Dubai Celts will give you an unforgettable time, and memories that will last for many years to come. We have had overwhelming feedback from all teams that have made the trip over, and would like to host as many as possible in March 2013.
